Guideline for Chit Fund Cos.

Introduction:-       

An Office of Registrar Chit Fund is established in the Directorate of small Savings & State Lotteries Vitta Bhawan with the main  objective of controlling the activities of the Chit Fund Companies of Rajasthan through the Chit Fund Act, 1982 and Chit Fund (Rajasthan) Rule, 1989.

Guidelines for the Subscriber:-

(1)  What is Chit ?

"Chit" means a transaction whether called chit. Chit Fund , Chitty Kuri or by any other name by or under which a person enters into an agreement with a specified number of persons that every one of them shall subscribe a certain sum of money (or a certain quantity of grain instead) by  way of periodical instalments over a definite period and that each such subscribes shall, in his turn, as determined by lot or by  auction or by tender or in such other manner as may be specified in the Chit agreement, be entitled to the prize amount.

(2)  Who can become a member ?

(a)   Person having regular source of income.

(b)  Person of sound mind, who is solvent and has not been convicted in any case.

(3)  How to recognize a Chit Fund Company ?

(a)   See the certificate of incorporation issued by the Registrar of Company (ROC) from the foreman of the company and prior sanction issued by the Registrar Chit Funds (RCF)

(b)  Ask for the certificate of commencement of Chit issued by the Registrar Chit Fund (RCF)

(c)  Whether the bye-laws/ Chit agreement are Registered with the R.C.F. Rajasthan in respect of the Chit group you wish to join.

(d)  You should go through the clauses of bye laws/ agreement and be sure whether you are financially able to subscribe the Chit.

(e)  You should personally satisfy yourself about the financial soundness of the Directors of the Company and their sincerity towards subscribers.

(f)   Verify from the office of the registrar, Chit Fund whether the company is functioning.

Guide Line for Chit Fund Companies.

Companies who wish to operate Chit scheme will have to abide by the provisions of  the Chit Fund Act, 1982 (40 of 1982) and Chit Fund (Rajasthan) Rule, 1989. Application form, method of obtaining previous sanction, Chit registration and certificate of commencement are given in the rule along with  requisite Performa.
